Join the Camp Durant Staff
Once has been said:
The most worth-while thing is to try to put happiness into the lives of others. –
Join a dedicated family of over a hundred Scouts and Scouters in making Camp Durant home to Scouts from across the state for the summer. We’re currently looking for members to fill our positions for next summer and we hope you’ll apply.
The application process is quick and easy. First, download and fill out the application: 2018 Staff Application. You must be 15 by the start of summer camp. Mail the application to the address on the application.
You’ll then need to attend one of our interview dates on either January 20th, 2018 or February 3rd, 2018 at the Raleigh Council Office from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. No appointment needed and interviews take 15 minutes. Wear your full Class-A uniform.
You’ll hear back from us by the beginning March with a letter in the mail. Staff positions do include a salary.
Being part of our staff involves working for part of the summer. Here are the dates that you should be aware of. Being unavailable for any of these dates won’t keep you from being hired, however, we give first preference to those who can work the entire summer.
Staff Developments – March 24-25, 2018 & May 4-6, 2018
Summer Camp – June 10th – July 21st, 2018
One Big Family
Becoming part of the camp staff is like becoming part of a family. We spend over 6 weeks working together and sharing experiences. Madison explains it best:
Stephen Nuttall – Giving Back
It’s an opportunity to make an impact on a scouts life just like a staff member did when I was a camper.
Gray Barnhill – Friendship
I’m on staff because of the awesome experiences and the great people I have found. While on staff, I’ve made friends that I know will last my entire life and I have impacted numerous people. Being on staff is one of the best jobs a person can have! Apply for staff, work one summer, and it will change your life!
Nicholas Anderson – Nothing Better
Being on staff is more than a job, it’s an experience of a lifetime. The impact I see our staff make on young scouts makes it all worth it. There is no better summer job than working for a Boy Scout Summer camp.
